LANDING YOUR DREAM JOB!
Have you ever wondered what it could be like to do your dream job? We interviewed two people who found theirs!
Jenna: I've always been someone who loves interacting with other people and I also have a strong interest in technology. Therefore, I was really (1) where I could use my communication skills. Fortunately, I found a perfect job, working as a social media manager for a small local company. I've done this job for almost twelve months, and I love it. I get to write interesting online posts and come up with social media strategies to help our company get more attention online. It’s home-based, too, which is great because I feel much more creative (2) . Of course, I still have tight deadlines to meet, and I need to be flexible, too. Occasionally, I have to go to the office for catch-up meetings to get updates on new project developments, for example, but luckily that doesn't happen very often. All in all, I love my job!

Peter: Since I was a child, computers have always fascinated me, and (3) . As I grew up, I started to take more interest in working with computers and using them. I began by making simple quiz apps and programmes for taking notes, and then when I finished high school, I went to university and completed a course in software development. (4) . Now, I get to do what I love - something I have been doing for years for free - and get a great salary. Hi everyone! I want to tell you about a person that I really admire and had a chance to meet last year – Haile Gebrselassie, a champion marathon runner.
Haile Gebrselassie was born and grew up in Asella, Ethiopia and (6) . He displayed fantastic talent and commitment on his path to success and quickly rose to tame in the sporting world. However, that doesn't mean that it was easy for Haile to achieve greatness. When Haile was a child, he lived on a farm in a rural area, and he had no access to transport services. In order to get an education, (7) while carrying his books. This was a tough challenge for Haile. He had no interest in running at first however, he used the experience as regular training for his success.
People soon spotted Haile's astonishing speed and running ability, and (8) when he got a place in the Ethiopian national athletics team. Even though he hadn't had any real training before that, he quickly found success, and by 1998, he had become the world record holder in the 10,000 metres race. Haile then became a specialist in long-distance running. (9) .
Haile is famous for his unique and unusual running style. Even as an adult, he ran with one elbow pointing out as tough he was still carrying his school books. Rashema’s Journey
A. Rashema Melson is an inspiring person (11) . She was born in Washington D.C. in 1996 and had dreams of being successful from an early age. However, Rashema had a very difficult start in life on her way to achieving her goal.
B. In her early years, life was very difficult for Rashema. She came from a very poor family and many times they didn’t have enough food to eat. When she was 16 years old, (12) . She changed school often because she didn't have a permanent home. But she was determined to be a good student and passed all her exams.
C. Despite being homeless, Rashema never gave up on her dream. At the age of eighteen, she graduated from Anacostia Highschool as one of the top students. (13) . She arrived on campus with everything she owned in a plastic bad but she was determined to succeed. Four years later, Rashema graduated with (14) in Justice and Peace studies. After that, she worked with non-profit organizations and governments agencies to help homeless people. Today, she stills work to help poor communities through public speaking events.
D. Rashema Melson is a special person because she works through her struggle and now helps other people. I admire her because (15) , she continued to work toward her goal.
