This is my new pen friend, Nicole. She lives in a big flat in the center of New York with her family. Nicole is 10 years old and she is now studying at a primary school. Her father is a doctor and her mother is a nurse. They work in the same hospital and they are very busy. Her parents only want her to be a doctor but Nicole wants to be a teacher. Nicole stays at school the whole day. She likes her school very much. Science and Maths are her favorite subjects. She always gets good marks for these subjects. She doesn’t like History and Art because she thinks they are boring. She usually plays badminton with her classmates at break time. Her parents often take her home at 4.30 p.m every day. Sometimes, Nicole helps her mother with the dinner. She is really a good girl.

At the swimming pool, people can enjoy a variety of activities. Some people like to swim laps to stay fit, while others prefer relaxing on poolside loungers. Children often play games and splash around in the shallow end. The pool area is usually equipped with chairs, umbrellas, and sometimes a snack bar for refreshments.
