EXERCISE 3. READING COMPREHENSIVE

A New Home in the Future - by James Stone

Our planet, Earth, is becoming more and more crowded. The world's population will reach 11 billion by 2100*. I think we will need to find a new home in the future. The options are really exciting!

One option is to live on another planet, like Mars or Venus. It's important that the planet has similar gravity to Earth. We need gravity to stay healthy and on the ground! Venus's gravity is similar to Earth's, but Mars's is much lower. Temperature will also be a problem. Mars is very cold, and Venus is very hot. People will need to stay inside all the time. Mars and Venus also don't have enough oxygen for humans.

Another alternative is to inhabit space stations, which could be built near Earth to minimize travel distance [2]. However, space stations are limited in size, restricting movement, and the lack of gravity over prolonged periods could negatively impact human health [2].

Question 30. CÂU 9. What is one disadvantage of living on space stations?
Question 31. CÂU 4. Which planet has gravity similar to Earth?
Question 32. CÂU 6. Why would people need to stay inside on Mars or Venus?
Question 33. CÂU 10. What could negatively affect human health on space stations?
Question 34. CÂU 1. What problem does Earth face according to the passage?
Question 35. CÂU 7. Why can’t humans live easily on Mars and Venus?
Question 36. CÂU 3. Why is gravity important for humans?
Question 37. CÂU 8. Where could space stations be built?
Question 38. CÂU 2. By which year will the world’s population reach 11 billion?
